Subject Leader Media Studies job summary

Here at Lode Heath School, we continue our mission to further develop all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment. Now’s your opportunity to help us achieve our ambitious goals as you lead on the delivery of Media Studies ensuring an exceptional learning experience.

Media Studies, a highly subscribed subject, sits within the wider English department, where there is a refreshingly collaborative and team focused culture; colleagues work together towards shared goals, thus delivering impressive outcomes for all students and groups of students. Our aim, quite simply, is to make sure that student achievement and enrichment is at the very heart of everything we do.

As Subject Leader, you will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is equipped to ensure high attainment and positive learning experiences for our students across key stages 3 and 4. You will also be equipped to share your expertise with our successful team to ensure even higher attainment and more positive learning experiences for our students. You may already have some experience of leadership, or this might be your first foray, but your commitment and desire for excellence will be clear.

Following continued success over the last few years, the community trusts us to deliver an excellent education. In turn, we are working to develop Lode Heath as a learning hub for everyone in that community where the sharing of best practice is both encouraged and commonplace. As you support your students and team to thrive, we will support you to progress your career with us. The ongoing training and development of our staff is a key priority, which is why you’ll enjoy access to a wide range of CPD opportunities including NPQs and our own Trust-wide leadership development programme.

If you’d like to be part of our exciting future, you will need to share our belief in educating the whole person - and in helping every student, irrespective of their background or abilities, to build the skills, confidence and independence they need to thrive in higher education or the workplace.

There’s an exceptional environment waiting for you outside of work too. One of the most prosperous towns in the Midlands, Solihull offers plenty of superb amenities and also has excellent transport links to Birmingham city centre and beyond.
