Subject Leader of Business Studies job summary

Lady Lumley’s School
Post: Subject Leader of Business Studies
Number on Roll: 892 (125 in the sixth form)
Commencing: January 2022 (ideally)
Salary: MPS/UPS plus TLR 2.1

Are you looking for either your first Head of Department post or your next opportunity? Can you strategically lead and teach Business Studies? If so we would love to hear from you!

Lady Lumley’s School (11-18) in Pickering is on a transformational journey. We are a school that is popular with parents and is easily accessible across North Yorkshire, East Riding and Wolds and Vale. The communities we serve around the Pickering, Ryedale and wider Coastal area deserve and need our school to play a leading role in terms of teaching, learning, progress and outcomes.

In April 2020 we welcomed our new Headteacher Clair Foden who joined us at the same time we joined our Trust - Coast and Vale Learning Trust. Lady Lumley’s is on an ambitious journey of school improvement. Although Ofsted on their last full inspection judged the quality of education and our sixth form provision to be ‘good’, we know there is significant scope and work to do to ensure at all times ‘we are being our best’ for our students, staff and community.

2021/2022 is hugely exciting for our school. Our Trust (Coast and Vale Learning Trust) is a growing family of schools based across the North Yorkshire Coast and Wolds and Vale. As the newest member of the Trust we are working closely with our sister school Scalby School (11-16) as we share learning, best practice and build a secondary hub our coastal area can be proud of. With access to the Teaching Alliance, NLE and subject/leadership experts we continue to rightly place staff development, training and resources at the heart of our journey. #wearelumleys
