Subject Leader of Design & Technology (Food Specialism) job summary

The Governors seek to appoint a dynamic colleague, with a track record of raising achievement, to lead and manage or Design & Technology Department or a suitably qualified Catering Teacher. The successful candidate will actively promote Design & Technology in our school and will have significant input in the contact and delivery of our food and catering courses.

The successful candidate will be able to teach across the age and ability range and provide evidence of successful teaching strategies. They will also be able to demonstrate:

A passion for food and catering.

An ability to inspire others through their expertise and enthusiasm for the subject.

A commitment to the achievement and well-being of students.

High standards and expectations for all students.

Our Design & Technology Department is a team of three full time teaching staff. Each member of staff is a specialist within their own subject area. The successful candidate will have significant input in the content and delivery of our food and catering courses and work alongside our experienced art textiles and product design specialists.

The team is supported by very able technicians: one works within the product design curriculum area and one works to support our food and art textiles curriculum.
