Subject Leader of Technology job summary
Salary: MPS/UPS plus TLR 2B (£4,531) plus the possibility of a Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £2500
Co-op Academy Priesthorpe aims to provide an outstanding education for all our learners, founded on co-operative values.
Our 2018 outcomes at both GCSE and A Level have offered much cause for celebration. Headline GCSE achievement has risen significantly when compared with 2017 figures.
Situated in Pudsey and just 15 minutes from both Leeds and Bradford centre, we provide places for 1250 students. The Academy has a very special ethos, which visitors continue to comment on. Equity and equality are key drivers for us in ensuring that all students have the opportunity to excel within a highly inclusive and supportive community.
We are looking for the right person to join our over-subscribed faculty. You should be an excellent practitioner, committed to making a difference to our students and ready to lead this key area within the Creative Design Faculty. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to make a significant contribution to the team and help shape and build on our vision and our ethos.
We are seeking an individual who is a self-starter, who can take this over-subscribed department and drive it forward alongside and in conjunction with other subjects in the faculty. The technology department is well resourced and funded, with a CNC machine, large bed laser cutter and three 3D printers as well as two workshops with traditional plastic and wood working machinery. The department also benefits from a designated CADCAM suite with modern PCs and CADCAM software. Results have improved year on year giving the candidate a fantastic spring board to further develop the profile of the subject.
We are looking for someone who has the drive, energy and enthusiasm to work with our existing team to further build on the progress already made. The ability to teach up to GCSE is essential. The subjects currently taught are food, engineering and construction. There is the opportunity, however, for the new post holder to shape and influence the KS3 curriculum, which, in turn, will drive the KS4 offer.
