What skills and experience we're looking for
We seek to recruit a talented Teacher of Music to our thriving Music Department. All Key Stage 3 pupils benefit from Schemes of Learning designed to develop their instrumental, ensemble, and technology skills alongside their theoretical and analytical understanding of different musical genres. We offer GCSE and A Level Eduqas qualifications, and several of our students have pursued music in higher education and within the Music sector. We are looking to expand our current offer to include a greater focus on Music production within our current GCSE syllabus, so expertise within Music technology, DJing or production is desirable. Outside of our curriculum, pupils and students enjoy a wide variety of instrumental lessons, ensemble opportunities, and Music enrichments, and can showcase their developing talents at regular concerts and performance opportunities throughout the academic year. We have two specialist classrooms, including a Music Technology suite of PCs, and an array of breakout spaces for curricular and extra-curricular use.
The successful candidate will motivate and inspire both staff and students, and be committed to inclusion and the well-being of every young person. Importantly, they will also have outstanding subject knowledge.
We will have high expectations of you to be an outstanding role model committed to the distinctive ethos of our School, where we strive for academic excellence, underpinned by character education.
