What skills and experience we're looking for

Do you hold a Level 1 or 2 Swimming Teaching qualification (NPLQ/NRASTC is desirable) The Priory City of Lincoln Academy would like to hear from you! An exciting opportunity has come available for a motivated and passionate Swimming Instructor to join our Junior Learn to Swim Programme within the Sports Centre

The role would require working on a Wednesday evening 4-6.30pm (option to split hours between two Swimming Instructors) alongside other staff members of Junior Learn to Swim and the Sports Centre. There would be options for relief work on other days of Junior Learn to Swim alongside relief work for Primary School swimming lessons during the day.

We would be pleased to hear from applicants with Level 1 or 2 Swimming Teaching qualifications and those with a NPLQ/NRASTC.

Our Junior Learn to Swim programme supports children aged 4-16 years, with most current swimmers aged 6-11 years. As a swimming instructor you will deliver high-quality Stage 4-7 swimming lessons to improver swimmers, helping children develop confidence in the water, enhance their swimming technique, and achieve recognised badge awards. You will monitor progress, assess abilities, manage class progression, and promote a strong understanding of water safety.

The successful applicant will support specific needs in accordance with the requirements of students individual SEN Profile / Educational Health Care Plan. They will be passionate about removing barriers and committed to working with colleagues to improve outcomes for learners. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to deliver learning activities to both individual students and small groups.

Candidates who possess outstanding interpersonal skills when working with young people, are at ease working in a team environment and IT literate are welcome to apply.  Training will be provided as necessary.
