TA (Hive/Nurture Base Responsibility) job summary

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, Level 3 (Hive / Nurture Base Responsibility) to join our dedicated team at Abraham Moss Community School, Crescent Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 5UF.


The core purpose of the role will be:

To provide emotional, pastoral, and academic support for pupils experiencing EBSA, anxiety, or difficulties accessing mainstream education.

To help create and maintain a safe, calm, and nurturing environment where pupils feel supported, regulated, and ready to learn.

To support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, and positive relationships in order to improve engagement with school life.

To work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals to support successful reintegration into mainstream lessons and improve pupil outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

Build positive, trusting, and consistent relationships with pupils experiencing anxiety, emotional needs, EBSA, or barriers to school attendance and engagement.

Support pupils on an individual and small-group basis within The Hive and, where appropriate, during planned reintegration into mainstream lessons.

Help create and maintain a calm, safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes emotional wellbeing, engagement, and readiness to learn.

Leading and delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions to support pupils’ emotional regulation, social skills, resilience, confidence, and engagement with learning.
