What skills and experience we're looking for

The governors of Hunton & Arrathorne Community Primary School wish to appoint a highly-skilled teacher with the ability to teach across the primary age range, but initially within Key Stage 1. The successful candidate will be an exceptional teacher who shares our high expectations for all children.

Hunton & Arrathorne Community Primary School is an excellent school near Bedale in North Yorkshire. We can offer an established staff team; supportive leadership; wonderfully behaved children and strong opportunities for continuous professional development. The school currently operates a five-class structure, where pupils benefit from small class sizes and great relationships.

The successful candidate will teach a Key Stage 1 class all day on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Our October 2024 Ofsted Inspection graded the school as Outstanding in EYFS, Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development, with Good in all other areas saying: ‘Pupils’ thrive at this school’

The whole school community shares an ambition to further build on this in our next inspection which will be due from September 2027.

• Is willing and able to follow the school’s consistent approach to pedagogy and curriculum implementation.

• Is willing to fully embrace and engage with the school’s policies and procedures.

• Is a great communicator - able to communicate with all stakeholders articulately.
