Teacher job summary

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS teacher looking for a new challenge?

Are you interested in school improvement and working with a team of dedicated TA, teachers and leaders?

St. Martin's CE Primary Academy is a diverse and happy school serving children from across the city of Salisbury. The children are known locally for their inclusive approach to fellow pupils , and their positive behaviour. The school itself has been on a recent and rapid journey of improvement. Since April 2024, a new Executive Headteacher, Head of School, SENDCo and Deputy Headteacher have been appointed by the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust. The Executive Headteacher, Ollie Martindale, also leads at St. Peter's CE Primary Academy and the two settings work very closely on all areas of school improvement. The successful candidate would join an already committed, vibrant staffing team at a very exciting time: we are firmly on a journey to a positive OFSTED inspection.

This maternity cover will be for at least the Spring and Summer term with the possibility of further, permanent employment at St. Martin's or St. Peter's. Our EYFS setting is taught by our Deputy Headteacher who will assume whole school responsibilities whilst our Head of School is away for the described duration. Reception class has 16 children, 50% of whom speak English as an additional language. Our school is actually closer to 70% EAL with Malayaman being the second most spoken language after English. Teachers looking for a diverse and welcoming school community should look no further!

St. Martin's is a stimulating learning environment in which all children thrive. We have an active, exciting and engaging curriculum that stretches and supports all children whilst engendering a lifelong love of learning. Through a highly considered CPD offer, personalised learning and sky-high expectations allow children to flourish and experience success.

Please look at the attached job specification and our website for more information. If you are keen to find out more about the role, please get in touch with the school office (details below) and arrange a tour or phone call with our Head of School, Becka Miller-Goddard. ECTs and experienced teachers alike should get in touch.

If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience, then apply now by completing the My New Term online application form.
