Teacher Apprentice job summary

Train to become a class teacher with the Greenwood Academies Trust and benefit from a tailored package of support and development from outstanding, experienced teachers and tutors.

In conjunction with our accredited provider NITE Coventry University, we are offering a Teacher Degree Apprenticeship training place to start in January 2027. Based at Medeshamstede Academy, you will combine on the job learning with online study to gain a BA Hons Degree with QTS.

Since 2013 we have successfully trained more than 250 teachers through academy-based ITT, with many former trainees now in school leadership positions.

In order to apply you must have:

Experience of teaching in a UK mainstream or special classroom

GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and maths (and science for Primary trainees)

Level 3 qualifications (eg A levels or level 3 apprenticeship)

UK ENIC comparability for overseas GCSE equivalence

The successful candidate will also be required to complete a DfE application and further selection process with the training provider prior to offer.

Medeshamstede Academy opened in 2012 as a new, purpose-built provision within Greenwood Academies Trust. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care plan with autism as their main presenting need. Our curriculum is broad and relevant; delivered through termly themed imaginative learning projects which support appropriate pre-formal, semi-formal and formal learning pathways towards independent learning. In key stage 4, a range of accreditation is offered from entry level to GCSE to prepare pupils for their next stage of education.
