The Woodroffe School is a wonderful place to work alongside professionals who are passionate about teaching and learning, and where students thrive both inside and out of the classroom.

As a Local Authority 11-18 state secondary school we are also in the fortunate position of being able to maintain our commitment to promoting teacher professionalism and autonomy. We know that if we are to genuinely meet need, teachers need to be in the driving seat for planning, and implementation centralised, top-down approaches just won’t cut it.

As a school our aim is to develop the whole child. Our curriculum is built from strong academic foundations combined with a rich extra-curricular offer. This means our students consistently excel, not just academically but as happy, thoughtful, and engaged members of society.

We take care of our staff. We believe that happy, healthy teachers thrive. That’s why we offer a comprehensive wellbeing programme and promote a sustainable approach to work-life balance ensuring our staff have the time and energy to enjoy the activities that make life fulfilling.
