Teacher job summary

We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Food Technology on a 0.6 FTE basis to join our team at The Compass Academy.

The Compass Academy is an Alternative Provision which supports pupils with complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties and/or associated special educational needs.

The Academy is seeking to recruit a Food Technology Teacher though consideration will be given to a candidate with experience in English, PHSE or Humanities.

Themain focus of the Subject Teacher's role is fostering the learning and progressof the pupils in their care. This involves being an effective teacher of pupilsas well as of the subject. Quality of preparation, resourcing, planning,subject expertise, teaching skill, pace, challenge, proactive classroommanagement, effective marking and assessment, high expectations, and positivepersonal relationships are all central to providing the conditions within whichpupils' personal skills, abilities, understanding, learning and progress can bedeveloped.

The Compass Alternative Provision Academy is a member of the Sentamu Academy Learning Trust (SALT) situated to the north of Hull with open aspects. It also sits on the boundary of the East Riding, very close to the village of Wawne. It provides Alternative Provision education to students aged between 11 and 14.
