The Role
We are currently seeking to appoint an exceptional person to teach Child Development and Care and Health and Social Care.
We currently deliver the CACHE Level 2 technical award in Child Development and Care and the BTEC Level 2 technical award in Health and Social Care. These are very popular courses at KS4.
The Department
Our Health & Social Care team is made up of experienced and supportive subject specialists. Results in the health and social care department are consistently high and amongst the best in the school.

The School
Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we have recently completed a further £10 million expansion project.

What we’re looking for
We are seeking candidates with experience of Health & Social Care / Child Development and an eagerness to get involved with health related projects as well as Personal, Social and Health Education. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in vocational learning and will therefore fully utilize the strong links we have with our sponsor as well as proactively seeking to create new links.
As a member of the Academy teaching staff you will be tasked with delivering an exceptional standard of teaching and learning, which raises aspirations and leads our students to the achievement of the highest academic standards.
This role represents an exciting opportunity to work as a member of a committed and highly innovative team delivering a curriculum where collaboration and team work is essential. We are looking for a highly original and innovative individual, able to make an exceptional contribution to a strong team.

MHA was one of seven sponsored academies who opened as part of a programme to transform educational provision within selected communities across Manchester. Opening in September 2009, MHA is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, with Manchester City Council as our co-sponsor. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we have recently completed a further £10 million expansion project following an increase to our PAN. With 1000+ students at the Academy, we are proud to have become the secondary school of choice in the area and the hub of our local community.
