About the role:
We are looking to recruit an outstanding Class Teacher for the summer term on a fixed term contract. You will be based in our enhanced provision working with children with SEND, working closely with the SENDCo. This is a full time post. The appointment is fixed term and will continue until at least 31st August 2026, so long as funding is available to support the post covered by this contract. There is potential for the contract to extend past 31st August 2026, subject to funding.
Conway is a 2 form entry primary school in the heart of Birmingham serving the local areas of Sparkbrook, Sparkhill, Hall Green and further afield. Pupils join us from the age of 3 and leave us at the age of 11 having built the stepping stones to enable them to achieve their dreams. Staff at the school have a wealth of experience, many of them having taught at Conway for many years and so understand the community and work tirelessly to meet the needs of the children.
We are part of Create Partnership Trust which gives us access to support, resources and high quality training opportunities. As such, our teaching is kept up to date to ensure that we meet the needs of all our learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Have regard to the school’s curriculum with a view to promoting the development of the abilities and aptitudes of the pupils in any class or group assigned.
Plan and prepare courses and lessons.
Teach assigned pupils according to their educational needs including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the pupils in school and elsewhere.
Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.
Promote the general progress and well-being of individual pupils and of any class or group assigned.
Make records and report on the personal and social needs of pupils.
Communicate and consult with parents encouraging a positive home-school relationship and assist parents in identifying how to support pupils' learning at home.
Participate in meetings arranged for any of the purposes described above.
