Teacher job summary

Due to increasing pupil numbers, we are seeking an Early Career Teacher to join our vibrant and welcoming team at Castle Primary School on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to begin your teaching career in a supportive environment where you can make a real difference to children’s lives and futures. At Castle, we are on a continuous journey of improvement and are committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reflective and committed ECT who is keen to develop their practice, contribute to our team ethos, and grow into a confident, effective teacher. You will be well-supported as you build your experience, while also being encouraged to contribute ideas and develop your strengths.

Our children thrive with adults who are friendly, firm and fair. We are therefore seeking a teacher who is calm, consistent and committed, and who can strongly align with our school vision and values.

We are an aspirational, highly motivated and supportive team, committed to ensuring that children’s learning, wellbeing and happiness remain at the heart of everything we do.

As part of a forward-thinking Multi-Academy Trust, we work collaboratively to provide the very best educational experiences for our pupils while retaining the unique identity and ethos of our school.

The successful candidate will:

Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning

  • Demonstrate high expectations for both achievement and behaviour
  • Communicate positively and effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Show commitment, enthusiasm and professionalism as an active member of the school team
  • Create a stimulating, well-organised and engaging learning environment that supports all learners

In return, we can offer:

A structured and supportive ECT induction programme, including mentoring and regular feedback

  • Children who will make you smile every day
  • Collaborative year group teams, with parallel teachers to plan and work alongside
  • Reduced workload through access to Teacher Admin support
  • High-quality Schemes of Work and pre-planned topics to support your early career development
  • Strong in-class support from Teaching Assistants and an effective Pastoral Team
  • Access to high-quality CPD at Trust, school and individual level
  • Opportunities to grow professionally and develop leadership interests over time
  • A strong focus on staff wellbeing and support
  • Excellent teaching resources, including technology for pupils and a well-stocked library
  • A dedicated, supportive and creative team who strive for excellence
  • A supportive and encouraging Leadership Team
  • Access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme providing professional advice and wellbeing support
  • The backing of a Trust that values its staff and respects the individuality of each school within the partnership

As we move towards two classes per year group, there is flexibility in where you will be placed. We will carefully match ECTs to year groups where they can develop quickly and gain confidence, supported by experienced colleagues.

Opportunities to develop subject leadership (such as Computing, History or MFL) may be available as you progress through your ECT years.

We warmly encourage prospective applicants to visit to our school to experience first-hand what we can offer. To arrange a tour, please contact Emma Sampson at admin@castleprimary.uk or call 0117 986 4489.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications, so early application is recommended.

All applications must be submitted via MyNewTerm.
