What skills and experience we're looking for

Prerequisite

• Satisfactory enhanced DBS and barred list check and references.

Experience

• Experience of working in schools

• Evidence of being an excellent classroom practitioner

• The ability to work with children across the primary age range.

• Being able to work with parents and carers, outside agencies, in

partnerships and collaboration to secure achievement,

enrichment opportunities and resources for children.

Qualifications or Training

• Qualified teacher status

• Recent, relevant in-service training - particularly in relation to

teaching, learning and assessment in primary schools.


Skills

• Able to effectively manage children’s behaviour in a positive way.

• Able to work as part of a team, take responsibility, be

accountable.

• Interpersonal skills - able to talk effectively to children, parents,

governors, external professionals and colleagues.

• Able to liaise effectively with agencies, build good working

relationships and rapport with colleagues.

• Able to produce careful, accurate, positive and well written

reports, policies and letters.

• Able to read and use data and to use a range of sources of evidence

to make judgments and identify next steps.

Personal Qualities & Attributes

• Creative, warm, engaging, transparent and intelligent.

• Well organised, calm and very positive, confident and assuring.

• Able to quickly engage and build appropriate relationships with

children.

Job Description (Teacher)


● teaching all areas of the primary curriculum


● taking responsibility for the progress of a class of primary-

age pupils


● organising the classroom and learning resources and

creating displays to encourage a positive learning

environment

● planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for

the needs of the whole ability range within the class

● motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative

presentation

● managing behaviour of pupils effectively

● preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil

development

● meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of

pupils' development

● providing feedback to parents and carers on a pupil's

progress at parents' evenings and other meetings,

coordinating activities and resources within a specific area

of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the

delivery of this specialist area

● working with others to plan and coordinate work

● keeping up to date with changes and developments in the

structure of the curriculum

● organising and taking part in school events, outings and

activities

● liaising with colleagues and working flexibly

● meeting with other professionals such as education

welfare officers and educational psychologists, if required.
