Teacher - Early Years - Maternity Cover job summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, outdoor loving and experienced Early Years Teacher to cover a maternity leave in the New Year. We are a happy, supportive group where everyone works hard to give the best education possible to the children. We are passionate about Forest School, outdoor learning, loose part play and the use of natural authentic resources.

Badbury Park Primary School is part of The Blue Kite Academy Trust, a growing family of primary schools based in Swindon. We offer excellent benefits including a competitive salary with scope for progression, an excellent pension scheme, free car parking and a discount scheme for local shops. We value our staff and believe in them. We offer you training and support you to develop, along with a friendly and supportive team of colleagues to work with.

Our school is a friendly, happy place where children are known and cared for. Teachers and pupils treat each other with respect and kindness, helping children to persevere and achieve their potential. Our curriculum is play based and creative and allows for children to explore in different ways – using hands on experiences and interesting stimuli. We believe in innovative teaching that engages pupils’ interests and inspires a love of learning. Forest School will ensure children achieve and develop confidence and self- esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a natural outdoor environment.

The successful applicant will:

Be fun, creative and enthusiastic with a love for outdoor learning

Have experience in an excellent Early Years setting or Reception Class

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents and other staff

Be innovative and flexible, yet rigorous with an eye for detail

Be passionate about inclusive practice and play based learning

Be adaptable to support the growth of our new school

We would encourage you to visit the school to see the fabulous facilities for yourself and to meet the team. For further information and to speak to the Headteacher, Mrs Louise Dance or the Assistant Headteacher for KS1, Mrs Charlotte Debono, please contact the school office to book a tour.

Applications should be submitted electronically by 30th September, however we will review applications as they come in and may close this vacancy early, so please don’t delay your application.
