Our Opportunity
We are looking for a wonderful teacher for one of our secondary groups. These classes consist of an average of 10 learners with diverse needs, including Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties. You will be supported by skilled and knowledgeable teaching assistants to help you deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to these learners.
The curriculum for this class covers maths, English, science, computing, and humanities, plus performing arts and music to develop confidence, and food tech as part of supporting independence. Personal development, independent living skills, and preparing for adulthood are an essential part of our curriculum offer, ensuring learners feel confident in their communities and lives beyond Welburn.
Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status - Primary or Secondary
- Primary or Secondary trained candidates may apply; this includes those teachers that are specialists in their subject
- The ability to cater for the range of learning difficulties, age range and needs of our learners
- Experience as a proven, successful classroom practitioner who consistently makes learning memorable, impacting on all learners to make good progress
The ability to teach more than one subject and demonstrate a proven successful track record in a comparable SEND setting, will be advantageous.
You will have the enthusiasm and resilience to work with children and young people who have a wide variety of needs including:
- Autistic spectrum condition
- Moderate and severe learning difficulties
- Speech, language and communication
