John Shelton Primary School is a 1FE primary school located in Coventry, serving a deprived area. What is the job role?

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional teacher to lead and manage our newly built Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP), which supports children with learning difficulties. In this role, you will be responsible for continuing the inclusive work being done by the school and ensuring that the ERP is an integral part of school life.

Who are we looking for?
  • Lead and manage the ERP, ensuring that it provides high-quality support and learning opportunities for children with special educational needs
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of children in the ERP
  • Manage a team of teaching assistants and ensure they are trained and equipped to support the children in the ERP
  • Work closely with the school's leadership team to ensure the ERP is fully integrated into the school's overall provision
  • Liaise with parents, external agencies, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in the ERP
  • Contribute to the school's overall curriculum development and ensure that the ERP is aligned with the school's vision and values

You will have: 

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in a primary school setting
  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, best practices and recent SEND research (SEND qualification is desirable eg NASENCO, NPQ)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • A strong ethical and moral commitment to our SEND pupils, staff and community
  • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting pupils with SEND
  • Proven track record of leading and managing a team effectively
  • Resilience and a sense of humour!
