What skills and experience we're looking for

This post would suit either a new entrant to the profession or an experienced teacher.We would welcome a teacher returning to work after a career break and will consider part time or flexible working where possible.

We endeavour to utilise each teacher's specialism and offer the opportunity to teach A level in our sixth form centre for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of students by equipping them for future success
  • Have high expectations of themselves and the ability to instil these in staff and students alike
  • Be an excellent teacher and a committed team player
  • Be invested in enabling student progress, whilst also developing the students holistically
  • Deliver innovative and creative lessons which engage and challenge students to achieve their full potential

We have around 1400 students, with 11-16 education being based on the main site, and Post 16 provision shared with our partners. The Academy is part of the Diverse Academies Trust. We are a large secondary academy for students aged 11-16 years based in Hucknall and, together with our partner academies, offer post 16 study at the Hucknall Sixth Form Centre.

We support our young people, so they enjoy their time at the academy and play a key part in all that academy life has to offer. We are immensely proud of the successes achieved by our students and we constantly strive to do more and be even better. Our ultimate purpose is very simple – to do everything that we can to ensure that our students leave ready to take their place in an increasingly complicated and competitive world.
