Your Role in Building Brighter Futures

As a Class Teacher in our Autism Centre at Westover Green Community School & Autism Centre, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. Purpose of the role of a Class Teacher (see the JD/PS for accountabilities):

To carry out the professional duties of a teacher, in accordance with any directions reasonably given by the Headteacher.

What You’ll Bring to Futura:

We are looking for a motivated and inspirational Class Teacher in our Autism Centre who will:

• Have qualified teacher status and successful completion of induction year.

• Have an excellent knowledge of autism and a deep understanding of statutory SEND paperwork.

• Be a positive team member who can collaborate with support staff in the Autism Centre and liaise effectively with mainstream colleagues.

• Maintain effective communication between school and families. 

• Be inspirational, dedicated and committed to creating a stimulating, nurturing learning environment. 

• Be an effective classroom teacher with a clear understanding of the Early Years Framework. 

• Have a sound understanding of how to support and nurture children with communication and interaction, sensory and emotional regulation needs.

• Demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.

• Align with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally.
