  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have GCSE Grade C or above in mathematics or English or equivalent qualification
  • Be willing to undertake regular training and professional development as and when required
  • Have working knowledge of SEND Code of Practice
  • Have a secure knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Have the ability to teach the primary curriculum and the ability to teach outside of your specialism if required
  • Remain calm under pressure
  • Be committed to supporting the aims of the federation

Gatten and Lake is a small, friendly school in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. It has one class for each year group from Reception to Year 6. In September 2013 the school moved from a building that was originally opened in 1883 at Howard Road, to a brand new purpose-built school on the field at Oaklyn Gardens. This new school has the latest facilities and technology and enables us to offer every child a fantastic and varied learning experience.
