Teacher - Maternity Cover job summary

Claybrooke Primary School is seeking to appoint a temporary inspirational Class Teacher for our mixed Year 1 & Year 2 class, to cover a maternity leave from 21st August 2024. The successful applicant will also need to oversee provision in EYFS. Joining our enthusiastic, hardworking, and committed staff team, you will be creative and strive to ensure every child reaches their potential. Our inclusive school family provides everyone with firm roots to work together to achieve excellence for all which enable them to aim high. There is potential for a permanent position within the IPAT Trust schools.

If you are passionate about teaching and learning, a reflective practitioner, with a drive to succeed, then we would welcome an application from you.

Claybrooke is a small, rural primary school, and we pride ourselves on being part of the ‘Claybrooke Family’. We serve the villages of Claybrooke Magna and Claybrooke Parva, as well as other villages in the locality.

Claybrooke is part of the Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust, and we work closely with the other schools in our Trust for the benefit of all of our pupils.

We have approximately 75 children on roll, housed in the original building, which dates back to 1814, as well as a newer purpose-built classroom. We also have our own school hall, extensive grounds and a smart multi-use games area and climbing trail at the front of the school.

Our vision at Claybrooke is ‘Together We Flourish’ and we aim to achieve this by promoting our values of * Kindness * Resilience * Independence * Teamwork * Honesty * Respect. Everyone who plays a part in the life of Claybrooke is very proud of the school and we are all working together to make it a fantastic and rewarding place to learn.

We were delighted to be awarded a 'Good' from Ofsted in our recent inspection in November 2023; 'In this small school, staff care for pupils and want the very best for them.' 'The school is at the centre of the community.' 'The curriculum sets out the important knowledge that pupils will learn in each subject. It is ambitious and well designed to meet the needs of pupils in the school.'

Please take a look at our website to find out more information about the school. Please read the attached IPAT candidate pack for the job description/Person Spec and more about IPAT.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is an excellent classroom practitioner
  • is a team-player who is committed to working in partnership with the staff, governors, parents and the wider community
  • has high expectations of children's achievement and behaviour
  • has a good understanding of Cognitive Science and can apply this in the classroom
  • has vision, enthusiasm and determination

Visits from prospective candidates are strongly encouraged and can be arranged via email to claybrooke@ipat.uk or calling 01455 209238.

The closing date for applications is midnight on Tuesday 14th May.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 21st May.
