Teacher job summary
We are looking for candidates able to work with pupils across the primary age range.
TLR 2a, 2b or 2c for leading a curriculum area or school improvement focus across the school may be available for candidates subject to their skills, knowledge and experience.
Millwood is an outstanding (OFSTED 2009, 2013, 2017) primary special school for pupils who have significant additional educational needs. Due to increasing pupil admissions and promotions of current staff the governors wish to appoint a teacher from April 2022.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent teaching skills and team leadership, a high level of organisation, creativity, resilience, and positive working relationships with parents, carers and professionals. Governors are looking for candidates who demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a wide range of additional needs including complex medical needs, profound and multiple learning difficulties, autism, sensory processing needs, SLCN, SEMH and challenging behaviour.
This is a permanent full - time post on teachers’ pay scale £25,714-£36,961 per annum worked in accordance with service requirements.
All new staff are trained in safeguarding, behaviour support, and risk assessment, and all staff follow a comprehensive professional development programme.
Applications are welcomed from ECTs as well as from experienced class-based teachers in mainstream or special settings. Job-share applications will be considered.
