Teacher of Art and Photography (Maternity Cover) job summary
We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, dedicated teacher of Art and Photography to join our team at Edward Peake as we continue our transition to a Secondary School.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone looking to take their next steps in their career and help to shape the teaching of Art and Photography at our school.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and delivery of Art to classes across year groups and Photography to their KS4 class. They will be accountable to the subject leader for Art and the Assistant Headteacher for Curriculum and Assessment. This is an important post, designed to further promote and develop learning within the school.
The successful candidate will be an effective teacher and will be able:
to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice and innovation
to teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4
to teach Photography at KS4
to help build and embed a successful KS4 Art and Photography curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils
to ensure consistency and shared good practice across the department
to follow and implement the school’s policies
to monitor the progress that pupils in their classes make within Art and Photography and work with the department to ensure effective interventions are in place to maximise the progress of all pupils.
All teachers appointed to the school are allocated a tutor group. A candidate who can demonstrate experience and a willingness to undertake wider responsibilities would be welcomed.
We wish to attract a high calibre candidate who will be fully involved in taking the department forward in the next stage of its development, particularly with the school transitioning to secondary. This post is a very important one and will need a team player with high expectations, flair, drive, determination, energy and a strong commitment to raising standards and providing opportunities for all learners.
