What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidate should be:
- Hard working and fully committed to the ethos of the academy.
- Confident in teaching Art, Photography, Textiles or 3D Product Design at KS3 and KS4.
- Enthusiastic and willing to try new ideas, taking responsibility for new initiatives.
- Keen to support the teaching of excellence by improving student outcomes.
- Someone with sky high expectations of students, whilst fully appreciating the need to provide encouragement and support to students of all abilities.
- Capable of working with staff from all areas of the academy, external agencies and partner schools.
- Interested in continuing professional development.

Required from January 2023, an enthusiastic and ambitious Teacher of Art to join the department in the next phase of its development and get fully involved in all aspects of academy life. Full time or part time hours considered.
Art based subjects are highly regarded by staff and students, boasting large uptake at GCSE. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience or interest in Textiles and 3D Product Design as well as Art and Photography and welcome applications from individuals qualified and interested in all Art based subjects.
Buckler’s Mead is an ambitious school on the rise. Following a hugely successful Summer where the Academy recorded the best results in its history we are now looking to recruit to key positions to continue this exceptional school improvement journey.
We seek to significantly invest in developing all of our staff. We often identify ambitious teachers with potential, developing them in their roles in order to take on leadership positions. This has been strengthened by our work with Trust partners. Originally established as Buckler's Mead School in 1957, Buckler’s Mead Academy is now a successful 11- 16 academy where we pride ourselves on providing an inspiring education for all.
