What skills and experience we're looking for

We seek to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic graduate teacher of Art from September 2024 to join a highly successful department in a selective school that has been rated by Ofsted as outstanding for over a decade. This post is temporary and part time (3 days per week) for one year. This is an opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive environment which encourages professional development. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs.

We are looking for a creative individual who understands the growing importance of art skills. The ideal candidate should have expertise in various art forms such as drawing, painting, and mixed media. They will be responsible for teaching these skills as part of the Key Stage 3 curriculum. While experience in laser cutting, printing, or 3D modeling is desired, it is not essential. Strong communication skills and proficiency in using Google Classroom or Microsoft programs are necessary. The candidate should also be able to effectively manage and utilise the department's online resources. In addition to teaching, the ideal candidate will be expected to run lunchtime or after-school clubs when necessary and actively participate in the art community. Our department also offers successful GCSE courses in Art and Textiles in Key Stage 4 and has a proven track record of delivering the Key Stage 5 IB Visual Arts course. Art is very popular at Key Stage 3, and the ideal candidate should bring their passion and enthusiasm for this subject to the role.
