What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you a visionary artist and an inspiring educator? Wardle Academy is seeking a passionate Teacher of Art to join our vibrant and high-achieving Creative Arts Department. We are looking for someone who can ignite a love for visual expression in our students, from the foundation of Key Stage 3 through to the technical rigour of GCSEs.

The successful candidate will be a creative practitioner capable of delivering a diverse curriculum that includes fine art, digital design, and three-dimensional studies. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for a supportive start or an experienced professional seeking a new challenge, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire & Educate: Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that challenge students of all abilities and foster a culture of creativity.

  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the evolution of our Art & Design curriculum, integrating contemporary practices and diverse artists.

  • Assessment: Use formative and summative assessments to track progress and provide constructive feedback that empowers students.

  • Exhibition & Display: Celebrate student achievement by curating school exhibitions and maintaining an inspiring studio environment.

  • Pastoral Care: Act as a Form Tutor, supporting the holistic development and wellbeing of a designated group of students.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Art & Design or a related field.

  • A specialist with strong technical skills (e.g., painting, ceramics, photography, or digital media).

  • A "can-do" attitude with a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and parents.
