Teacher of Business Commencing 31st August 2021 MPR/UPR Part Time – 0.8 fte Maternity Cover/ Fixed Term Contract The Role This is an excellent opportunity for a well-qualified and inspirational Business Teacher to become an integral member of our energetic and supportive Business, Accounting and Economics team. With a focus on success, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to outstanding teaching and learning practices, to support the achievement, progression and well-being of our students. The Business, Economics and Accounting Curriculum The curriculum at ONE currently offers A Level Economics (EdExcel), Business (EdExcel) and Accounting (AQA); alongside Level 2 and 3 Extended Diplomas in Business (Pearson). As such, depending on their preference, ONE offers teaching staff the opportunity to specialise in one area of expertise, or to teach across a number of subject areas, within a collaborative and supportive team. With a comprehensive range of industry links, students enjoy direct leadership, mentoring and progression opportunities from nationally- and internationally-recognised Business organisations, including the Institute of Directors. Always seeking to add to this portfolio, we welcome applicants with previous industry experience, or with a commitment to expanding students’ horizons through direct industry engagement. Key Attributes We are seeking to appoint a positive, personable and highly-motivated teacher with the following characteristics: • A passion for their chosen subject area • Up-to-date subject knowledge of BTEC L2/3 Business and/or A Level Business, Economics or Accounting • A willingness to work collaboratively, where ideas and teaching strategies are freely shared within a high-performing team • A commitment to outstanding teaching and learning practices, with a desire for continual professional development • Experience of, or enthusiasm for working with 16-19 year-old students How Staff Are Supported at ONE As staff surveys reveal near-100% satisfaction with the vast majority of working practices at ONE, we pride ourselves on the support offered to all, including those who are new to teaching. With a range of on-going staff development opportunities, all staff at ONE enjoy a comprehensive CPD programme, including the chance to conduct and implement educational research. Embedded in this, staff have access to a highly-enjoyable well-being programme, with access to sports facilities, and a varied number of health and recreation opportunities. NQTs will be further supported with dedicated teaching remission; a highly-qualified teaching Mentor; and added support from the Director of Curriculum and other senior staff. When appropriate, we also support staff in achieving QTS or QTLS.
