It has a very inclusive and diverse community with over 40 languages spoken and our school is truly representative of Manchester’s rich multi-cultural heritage. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and particularly those committed to diversity and inclusion.

We are committed to ensuring that all children receive a first-class education that prepares them thoroughly for the future and allows them to play an active role in the life of the school and wider community. The school encourages staff to organise events and trips (home and abroad), extra-curricular and subject enrichment activities, to develop the whole child, to prepare him/her for the challenges of the modern world.

Reporting to the Head of the Social Sciences Faculty, you will be responsible for teaching Business Studies at KS4 and 5 and Economics at Key Stage 5. You will be an outstanding teacher, delivering consistently good and outstanding lessons, an excellent team player with the highest standards of professionalism and expectations of students. You will have up to date subject knowledge and a track record of success in maximising student progress at A level. There is a potential for leadership for the right candidate.

In 2018, the opening of a new Sixth Form Centre marked the completion of a huge expansion project. Inspectors judged the school to be Good in all phases in its most recent inspection in May 2019, since when the Science Centre has been refurbished and modernized, so this is an exciting time to join the school. Applications from ECTs are welcome and a full support programme will be provided.

As well as being an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about the teaching of Economics and Business Studies you will also need to demonstrate a commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school.

United Learning schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resources, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
