What skills and experience we're looking for
The Business Studies faculty is highly successful and plays a key role in the College’s achievement and career aspirations for our students. It delivers both GCSE Business Studies and BTEC Business Enterprise. It is an incredibly popular subject at KS 4. It is one of the strongest subjects in the school. In 2024, 93% achieved grades 9-4 for GCSE Business Studies and 78% for BTEC Tech Enterprise at Level 2 or above. Class sizes are smaller than average. The faculty has 4 dedicated ICT rooms with state-of-the-art facilities and an additional classroom without computers. It is supported by our ICT Technician and Network Manager. The successful applicant would benefit from entering a supportive environment with a blend of skills, innovation and experience. We promote a positive Catholic ethos but there is no requirement to be Catholic to apply. This post would suit either experienced or newly qualified teachers. In addition, we appreciate the shortage of subject specialists for Business Studies and so welcome applications from staff who have a passion for this subject and want to teach it in an outstanding school. We believe staff with an interest in Maths, ICT, Travel & Tourism, Design & Technology or Geography would be suitable.
