About the role
- Create clear learning objectives and lesson structures that maintain a high pace, motivation, and challenge for all students.
- Establish a safe, purposeful, and welcoming environment where students feel secure and confident.
- Maintain high standards of student behavior and discipline through positive relationships and well-focused teaching.
- Mark and monitor students’ work and set targets for progress in line with the learning and teaching and assessment policies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for a tutor group, providing academic monitoring, guidance, and pastoral welfare while liaising with parents and external agencies.
About you
- A demonstrable passion for your subject and the ability to teach across various ages and abilities (Key Stage 3 and 4).
- Capability of deploying a range of teaching styles and maintaining a purposeful classroom atmosphere.
- The ability to be organised and efficient, particularly in regards to lesson preparation, students assessment and record keeping.
- A thorough understanding of and commitment to safeguarding procedures.

The King Alfred School is currently part of The Priory Learning Trust, a group of like-minded schools whose shared ambition is to provide A Great Education for Every Child.
