About The Cambridge Maths School
Cambridge Maths School (CMS) is a new specialist sixth form developed in association with the University of Cambridge, which opened in September 2023 with a focus on pioneering learning and increasing diversity in the field of mathematical sciences. The school provides a diverse range of young people with access to a unique educational experience, located in bespoke facilities on Mill Road in Cambridge. The school focuses only on mathematical sciences and offers A levels in mathematics, further mathematics, biology, chemistry, computer science and physics.
The school is seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher of Computer Science to work in a unique and talented department to realise the vision and ambitions of the school. The post may be either part-time or full-time (for a candidate who can teach another subject), candidates are asked to state their preference in the application form.
The school delivers a highly specialised A-Level STEM-based curriculum to enthusiastic students from the eastern region. CMS works to attract high-achieving students from groups who do not normally progress to the most competitive university STEM courses. Mathematics lies at the core of everything that takes place at Cambridge Maths School; it is the passion that unites teachers and students alike, and it represents a way of thinking and creating that empowers and enriches all the different aspects of the school curriculum.
Should the successful candidate be interested and appropriately qualified, there may be opportunities to teach mathematics, biology and physics at the school also. This role may also be suitable for those with industry experience in software development but without formal teaching experience.
