The Role
Queen Katharine Academy are looking to appoint a well-qualified, highly motivated and outstanding teacher for Engineering. You will join our enthusiastic, hard-working and committed team who want to make a difference. The department is supportive and well-resourced and is looking to appoint a colleague who shares their enthusiasm and unswerving determination to help every student enjoy, achieve and progress within the Technologies subjects. The Technologies department at QKA is well resourced and has committed practitioners, who are focussed on continuing the process of raising standards and expectations in our department and beyond. We run a variety of courses and subjects in years 7 -9 such as DT, Engineering , Food Technology and Computer Science. At KS4 students take a traditional pathway selection with Engineering being a popular choice, this then develops into a successful KS5 Engineering pathway which the candidate will be able to contribute to the delivery of.
The successful candidate will have proven expertise and be someone with a passion for their subject who will inspire and engage our students. It would be desirable for the successful candidate to be able to teach Engineering to L3 qualification.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a school within one of the well-regarded Trusts in the eastern region. The school has a great history of success and a bright and exciting future and we are looking for an ambitious and dynamic teacher to steer it through the next stage of its development. Collaboration, educational research and professional development are at the core of how the schools within Thomas Deacon Education Trust work together. With a clear focus on teaching at all levels, the Trust is well placed to provide great opportunities to promote Queen Katharine Academy as a leading school and you will be given effective support to develop you personally as an outstanding teacher.
