What skills and experience we're looking for

Required from September 2024

We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a talented computer science teacher to join our vibrant and established team working in the heart of Lancashire’s Ribble Valley. You will join us at an exciting and seminal time in our rich 90-year history with the recent opening of our Primary phase as we begin our journey as an all through school for pupils aged 4 - 16.

The Computing Department is unapologetically ambitious; the team explores research to inform and expand our practice, using new ideas and strategies alongside effective and well-established teaching and learning methodology. Our curriculum is rich and challenging and, with our evolving pedagogy, we really are extremely proud of what we do. This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic teacher to join us.

Inclusion here at Ribblesdale is paramount as we strive to provide an education rich in opportunity for all our pupils. Our ‘Personal Development’ provision is ‘outstanding’ (OFSTED) with our unique Enrichment programme helping pupils to foster their talents and gain new skills and experiences, beyond the classroom walls. Our innovative use of education technology has seen us recognised as a Microsoft Showcase School as we develop at the forefront as pioneers in educational technology and innovation.

Applications are encouraged from inspirational, aspirational teachers who will share our passion for high quality pedagogy informed by the latest research. As a key member of the team, you will have the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4. A thirst for championing computing across all aspects of the school is vital, along with the enthusiasm and commitment to continue to drive forward at this exciting time.

To apply, please send in a completed application form (which can be found on the ‘Working at Ribblesdale’ section of our website) accompanied by a supporting letter addressed to the Headteacher (no more than 2 sides of A4, Arial 11) detailing the qualifications, skills and experience which equip you for this role.

Applications should be submitted to Emma Day at vacancies@ribblesdale.org no later than 9.00 am on Thursday 18th April 2024.

Interviews to be held week commencing 29th April 2024.
