Overview of the Role
A well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of computing is required to join this successful and flourishing department to teach, in the first instance, up to GCSE level. The successful candidate must be willing to engage in the school’s commitment to developing AGGS as a centre of excellence for teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will be a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of computing who has experience in teaching up to GCSE level. The department comprises three members of staff and the role is to cover part of the timetable of one of them, to release them for union duties. It is temporary in the first instance until 31 August 2023 but there may be an opportunity to extend the contract beyond that point.
The computer science department at AGGS delivers offers
computing and computer science across all key stages. At GCSE, pupils
study OCR J277 and we have yearly cohorts of around 45 pupils split across two
classes. At A Level, pupils study OCR H446 and our class sizes
currently range between 11 and 16 pupils. We have three dedicated computer science classrooms and two further IT suites
which can be booked out by other subjects...
