It is an exciting time to join the team at Harlington School. Harlington is a happy, successful and oversubscribed school, where staff retention rates are excellent. We are a dynamic and passionate team of associate and teaching staff, who put the students in our Harlington family at the heart of everything we do. We employ colleagues who have a passion for working in a diverse, multicultural school.
This post is for a full time Teacher of Computing.
If successful, you will be joining the Computing Faculty, which currently consists of 4 colleagues, both part time and full time.
Computing is taught as a compulsory subject in Key Stage 3, and nearly all students in Key Stage 4 undertake an accredited course in either GCSE Computer Science or Level 1/2 Cambridge Technical Qualification, as part of the 'Harlington Baccalaureate'.
We currently offer Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in IT, in the 6th Form, and are hoping to further develop our post 16 offer with A Level Computing and Level 2 accredited course considerations in the future.
A number of alumni students take up Computer Science or associated disciplines at University each year, and we have in the past been pleased to welcome back former students to undertake their University Computer Science industry work placement year at the school.
