What skills and experience we're looking for
Inspire the Next Generation at Wadebridge School
Our aim is to inspire the next generation of digital innovators, creative thinkers, and entrepreneurial minds. We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Computing, iMedia & Enterprise teacher to join our well-resourced and thriving team to help us achieve this vision in our successful and supportive school.
This role would be suitable for an experienced teacher or early career teacher (ECT).
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated teacher, either experienced or early in their career, who can deliver high-quality lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, primarily in KS3 Computing, with additional opportunities to teach Computing, iMedia and Enterprise. You will play a key role in supporting our ambitious curriculum and ensuring every student is challenged, motivated, and engaged.
Within KS3 all students follow a program of study that embraces Computing, Imedia and Business elements. The successful candidate will deliver outstanding lessons across all three of these disciplines and should aim to inspire and challenge students through delivering creative and engaging lessons. You would be responsible for supporting students in understanding the evolving world of computing, including physical computing, programming, digital media, enterprise, and marketing concepts. You would be expected to integrate new technologies and industry trends into lessons confidently and effectively, promoting a culture of curiosity, resilience, and a love for learning. There would be an expectation that you would collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine resources.
The Computing department is well resourced; there are 7 dedicated IT rooms around the school. Whilst they are timetabled appropriately for lessons, these are also used as a resource by departments across the school. At KS4 students are currently given the option to continue to study towards OCR J277 Computer Science, OCR J834 Creative Imedia or OCR J837 Enterprise and Marketing.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and confident in delivering computing and digital media lessons, be willing to embrace innovative teaching methods and evolving technologies. They must have a strong understanding of physical computing, enterprise and digital marketing concepts, be able to challenge and support students of varying abilities, ensuring all achieve their potential.
