What skills and experience we're looking for

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of KS5 Criminology to join The Basildon Upper Academy, as part of a supportive Social Science Faculty, on a one year fixed term contract (maternity cover).

At the Basildon Academies Trust (BAT), we have a fully inclusive ethos and are therefore seeking an Art Teacher who embodies our Trauma Perceptive Practice principles.

This is a unique opportunity to join a successful split-site academy as part of a supportive team. The post is open to teachers of all levels of experience and we welcome applications from ECTs. Opportunities to teach your specialism of Biology, Chemistry or Physics to KS5 in our thriving sixth form is an option for suitably qualified subject specialists.

What the school offers its staff

The Academies provide staff with the most appropriate and effective support to ensure that their professional development needs are fully met and that there is a high level of challenge in the opportunities they are offered. We have a weekly CPD programme for all and a very strong record of developing staff. We have an excellent track record of providing promotion and responsibility opportunities to staff that aspire to leadership.

Further details about the role

Our academy operates across two sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst the Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5. The appointed Science teacher will begin their BA career at the academy site best suited to their skill set.
