Teacher of Design and Technology job summary

Teacher of Design and Technology

Required for September 2021 or January 2022, a well-qualified and successful classroom practitioner to join our successful and vibrant Design and Technology Faculty.  The take up of the subject at GCSE and A Level is very strong indeed.   It would be expected that the successful candidate would be able to teach up to GCSE Level and the ability to teach A Level is preferred.

The Design and Technology Faculty encompasses Resistant Materials, Engineering, Food and Nutrition and Textiles Technology.  The department consists of a well experienced team of 1 full-time teacher, 4 part-time teachers and 2 technicians.

The Faculty is housed across two floors with well-resourced and purpose-built classrooms for the teaching of specialist subjects. The faculty is well resourced with a variety of CAD/CAM facilities and the opportunity for cross media practical work.

This is a great time to join our school as we consolidate links with the three feeder primary schools which form part of our Multi-Academy Trust (The Minerva Learning Trust). We work closely with colleagues across the MLT, sharing ideas about assessment, literacy, numeracy and other areas of pedagogy.  We are an outwardly facing school in a beautiful part of the country on the Jurassic Coast, and have strong links with our local community as a Rights Respecting Gold School.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.  Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Stuart Woodhall, Head of Design & Technology Faculty woodhalls@colfox.dorset.sch.uk or 01308 422291.  Visits to the school are also warmly accepted.

An application form and details can also be downloaded from either the school website: www.colfox.org or you can apply online at: www.dorsetforyou.com/jobs.  Completed application forms should be emailed to the Headteacher’s PA, Amanda Tuck a.tuck@colfox.dorset.sch.uk
