Teacher of Design Technology job summary
West Coventry Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Teacher of Design Technology. West Coventry Academy is a vibrant, all-inclusive comprehensive school, located on the outskirts of Warwickshire. We are looking for a passionate educator to join our highly successful and forward-thinking department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5), fostering creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills in a well-resourced and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will:
Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Design Technology across a range of specialisms (e.g. Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering)
Inspire students to think creatively and develop practical solutions to real-world challenges
Contribute to a collaborative and ambitious department committed to continuous improvement
Support extracurricular opportunities, including STEM clubs and enrichment activities
Play an active role in the wider life of the school
What you'll need to succeed
Is a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent)
Has strong subject knowledge in Design Technology
Is passionate about teaching and learning, with high expectations for all students
Has the ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire learners of all abilities
Works well as part of a team and is committed to professional development
