Teacher of Design Technology job summary
We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Design Technology who wants to join an experienced, supportive, committed faculty and make a real difference with our young people. A forward thinking, dynamic teacher, with a specialism in any of the technology subjects will only strengthen our existing team. An ability to teach resistant materials and construction would be advantageous.
The position would suit an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher who is keen to start their career in a friendly and supportive school. We have extensive experience of providing the very best mentoring and support for new staff.
The faculty is well-established, well-resourced, and highly supportive. Led by a Head of Faculty and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, we work collaboratively, always putting the needs of our students at the forefront of what we do. Design Technology is currently taught on a subject rotation at Key Stage 3, including Food Technology, Diet and Nutrition, Resistant Materials, and supplemented with IT based technology lessons. We are keen to expand the curriculum further with the right candidate, exploring the introduction of textiles and graphics, therefore experience of the different elements of Design Technology is desirable. The faculty are supported by two full time Technicians.
Courses at Key Stage 4 in the Technology faculty are popular with our students and results are on an upward trend. We are driven to ensure this continues and therefore are keen to bring a multi-skilled teacher on board at this time. This role offers you the opportunity to develop and excel as a teacher, within a strong and effective team of practitioners. We understand that working collaboratively not only improves outcomes, but also reduces workload.
We are determined to give our students the best possible education and a memorable experience. We want them to be well equipped to make both positive life choices and to be able to problem solve as they move forward in their lives.
We would love to show you round our faculty and the academy.
We offer:
Salary commensurate to your experience
A strong and ongoing CPD program
Opportunities for career development and progression
Teachers’ pension scheme
Use of the onsite gym
A Senior Team that are keen to drive school improvement and are open to innovation and creative thinking
A strong commitment to staff wellbeing
We will review applications on receipt. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date, and we reserve the right to withdraw the position if an appointment is made.
The Four Cs MAT is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
