What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to recruit a well-qualified and highly motivated DT practitioner to join our highly successful curriculum area. This post is open to ECT’s looking to begin their career at a World Class School or for experienced teachers looking to develop their career.
We welcome applications from all suitably qualified professionals for full or part time working. The ability to teach Food as a second subject is preferable.

Design Technology is an extremely popular subject and by inspiring our students at Key Stage 3, sees a continually growing number opting to continue their studies at GCSE and A Level. The DT department has excellent facilities to support and enrich teaching and learning with 3 dedicated classrooms, supported by a full time Technician.
Weatherhead High School is an extremely successful school. The school consistently achieves significantly above the national average in examination results and has positive scores for both Progress 8 and Attainment 8. In 2022 A Level results were A* - A, 60% and A* - C, 90%. At GCSE 9 – 5, 70*, 9 – 4 90%.
We are oversubscribed on entry each year, with an average number of 255 students in each year group.

Weatherhead High School is a large 11 to 18 oversubscribed girls’ comprehensive school with approximately 1540 students on roll. There is an excellent mixed Sixth Form with nearly 300 students. We have a PAN of 254 for each year group from Year 7 to 11 and the school of choice for girls in Wallasey and the surrounding area.
We were judged to be an Ofsted ‘Good’ provider in our recent inspection in November 2022. During the inspection, inspectors commented that ‘Weatherhead High School is a happy and friendly learning community. Pupils, students in the Sixth Form and staff are proud to belong to this school. Relationships between staff and pupils are strong.’
