What skills and experience we're looking for

King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking a dynamic, well-qualified teacher with a high level of subject knowledge and a real passion for their subject. We expect the successful candidate to work as part of a strong team and be willing to participate in all aspects of school life including support for extra curricular clubs, festivals and performances. The post is suitable for a current classroom teacher or for an Early Career Teacher.

Drama is highly successful at our school with all students having weekly Drama lessons throughout Key Stage 3. Drama is popular with our students; we have a strong track record of success at Key Stage 4 and post-16. In 2025, BTEC Performing Arts students at both key stages achieved 100% Distinction*-Merit grades. At KS4 we achieved above the national average at L2D*/L2D.

We are looking for a teacher with infectious enthusiasm, excellent communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents. Extra curricular opportunities are a key part of school life, and the successful candidate will play a key role in providing opportunities for students beyond the classroom.
