Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Teacher of English with energy, intellectual capacity, and determination to join our successful English Department and make a difference to the lives, aspirations and opportunities of our young people.
The successful applicant will be an outstanding professional who takes pride in their work and is determined to develop the teaching of English so that students of all abilities enjoy their learning and are motivated to succeed.
The English department at Brompton Academy is a team of welcoming, supportive and collaborative people. They are committed to working together for the best interests of the pupils and for the well-being of our staff. Working collaboratively, sharing ideas and best practice and always maintaining the feeling of working as a ‘team’ rather than just a ‘department’. Our English colleagues enjoy challenging students and encouraging them to develop a love of language and literature. You will be joining a very proactive team who set high standards for our students and try to always motivate them to do their best and show them that their potential may be even higher than they thought. The department makes good use of its links with the University of Kent and take part in events such as the Lecture series at GCSE and Creative Writing workshops at KS3.
