Would you like to work in a truly diverse and inclusive school community where both student and professional development are core values?

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to join our dynamic and collaborative department. The successful candidate will teach across the 11–18 age range and have the skills, dedication and passion to deliver the English curriculum to the highest standards.

You will be:

  • A skilled classroom practitioner with a love of English and a clear understanding of how students learn.
  • Ambitious, flexible, and resilient, with a strong belief in the potential of every learner.
  • Eager to contribute to a department that values creativity, consistency, and collaboration.
  • (For the TLR role) Someone with the vision and drive to lead whole-school literacy initiatives, supporting staff and students in embedding literacy strategies across all subject areas.

  • Leading on staff CPD related to literacy, supporting colleagues in embedding effective strategies for reading, writing, speaking and listening into their classroom practice.
  • Using reading and literacy data to identify gaps, track impact, and inform targeted interventions, particularly for key groups.
  • Supporting the development of disciplinary literacy approaches that reflect the demands of individual subject areas.
  • Contributing to whole-school strategy on literacy development and working with stakeholders to ensure literacy is central to improving outcomes for all students.
