What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School from 1st September 2024 or 1st January 2025. This is a full-time permanent contract, which is suitable for both ECT’s and applicants with previous teaching experience, to teach English from KS3 to KS5. Early Careers Teachers are appointed on Point 2 of the Main Scale to provide some assistance with the costs of travelling. We value staff planning time at KLB; full-time teachers have at least 10% PPA time with a minimum of 7 non-contact periods a fortnight.

The successful candidate will have:

  • a passion for English education;
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • the ability to be effective as a member of a team;
  • a clear understanding of how to promote effective learning in English;
  • a commitment to comprehensive education and supporting every child to achieve high standards and to enjoy English;
  • energy, resilience, a sense of humour and the determination to see things through.
