Queen Mary’s High School is an academically selective 11-18 girls’ grammar school with a co‑educational sixth form, located in the heart of Walsall. With around 950 students and a long history of academic excellence, our school is known for its vibrant, supportive culture and its commitment to developing exceptional young people.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented Teacher of English to join our thriving and collaborative English Department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about their subject, committed to inspiring students, and eager to contribute to a high‑performing team.

You will:
- Deliver high‑quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 depending on experience)
- Plan and teach engaging lessons that stretch and challenge all learners
- Contribute to the development of the English curriculum
- Provide excellent academic and pastoral support
- Uphold the school’s values and commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion
- Play an active role in the wider life of the school, including co‑curricular activities
ECTs will receive excellent support through our outstanding Early Career Teacher programme, delivered across the Mercian Trust.
