As a key member of the team, you will have the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 & 4, including the delivery of GCSE English Language and English Literature. If you are a strong classroom practitioner and an excellent communicator, we would love to hear from you!

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic teacher to join our vibrant English Department. In recent years we have become an all-through school, serving pupils from the ages of 4–16, so the opportunity to learn about primary provision and develop expertise is a real advantage of this role. Our curriculum is carefully sequenced and built around a spiral model, where key disciplinary knowledge in reading, writing, speaking and listening is revisited and deepened across the years. Reading is at the heart of the curriculum at Ribblesdale, as evidenced by our recent three-quarter of a million-pound library renovation. What better place to begin or develop your career as a Teacher of English? It really is an exciting time to join our ambitious and energetic team!

We want a teacher who shares our ambitious, inclusive and forward-thinking approach to teaching and learning, and who will be able to demonstrate the creativity, flexibility and resilience needed to offer outstanding opportunities for our pupils – something Ribblesdale School provides in abundance! Our curriculum encourages pupils to question, reflect and communicate with clarity and confidence, seeing English as a powerful toolkit for understanding and shaping the world around them. Our aim is to enable all pupils to become confident and inquisitive individuals and to cultivate a lifelong love of learning.

Candidates currently studying for or in possession of a qualification relating to SEND, e.g. NPQH SEND or able to demonstrate interest and willingness to do so may be at an advantage.Suitable for ECTs or an experienced teacher.

We look forward to receiving your application!
