Position Overview:
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious and committed Teacher of English to join our successful and highly motivated English department.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic practitioner with a genuine passion for English. You will be committed to inspiring a love of literature, fostering creativity and developing students’ confidence in both written and spoken communication. You will also value English as a foundation for success across the curriculum and beyond and be dedicated to providing students with the strongest possible bedrock for their future learning.
We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with an interest in teaching Media Studies at Key Stage 5, and those who are eager to promote creative writing, critical thinking and intellectual curiosity in the classroom.
The successful applicant will:
- Be qualified to teach English across Key Stages 3-5
- Hold a degree in English Literature, Language or a related subject
- Be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills
- Be reflective in their practice and committed to ongoing professional development
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Delivering High-Quality Lessons
- Designing engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Ensuring lessons align with the National Curriculum and school policies while incorporating appropriate use of technology and up-to-date teaching methods.
Assessing and Tracking Progress
- Using formative and summative assessments to evaluate students' progress and inform future teaching.
- Recording and reporting on attainment and progress data to stakeholders, including students, parents, and school leadership.
Promoting a Positive Learning Environment
- Establishing clear behaviour expectations and maintaining classroom discipline.
- Creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment where all students feel valued and can thrive.
Supporting Student Well-Being
- Recognising and addressing the mental health and emotional needs of students, including safeguarding responsibilities.
- Collaborating with pastoral staff and external agencies as necessary to support student welfare.
Engaging in Professional Development
- Participating in ongoing training to enhance subject knowledge, and classroom management skills.
- Reflecting on and improving personal teaching practices through collaboration, feedback, and staying updated on educational policy changes. classrooms.
Qualifications:
- Degree in English education or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of current English curriculum standards and best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Passion for English education and a commitment to inspiring students in the field.
